Royston Rural District was a small short-lived rural district in the southwest corner of Cambridgeshire, England and also in the northwest corner of Hertfordshire, England. It was made up of only two parishes: Royston and Great Chishill which was in Essex until 1894. (Until 1895 the three counties met at a point to the east of Royston.) The county border was moved in 1895 and the Great Chishill was moved to Cambridgeshire where it joined Melbourn Rural District. Royston became an urban district within Hertfordshire in 1897 and the rural district was abolished. [edit] List of Parishes
