Rothwell is a market town in the south east of the City of Leeds metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, England.

Rothwell has a population of 21,010, and the Rothwell ward has an estimated population of 32,365. The town has benefited from recent improvements in the transport infrastructure, most notably the nearby A1/M1 link road. Rothwell is part of the West Yorkshire Urban Area. The nearest railway station is Woodlesford.
