Village of Rochester

Rochester historically was a post village in the northeastern part of the township of Noble, county of Noble, state of Ohio, United States of America. It was situated along the section line in sections 3 and 4 of township 7, range 9 (1st Congressional Survey). Before the creation of Noble County in 1851, it was in Morgan County.

The village was surveyed by Samuel Aikens on 4 May 1841 for the proprietor, Robert Hellyer. An addition to the plat was made in September 1845. The Nobleville Post Office was established on 28 July 1851 and was discontinued on 15 June 1904.
