Putnam County is a county located in the state of Ohio, United States. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 34,499, which is a decrease of 0.7% from 34,726 in 2000. The name is in honor of Israel Putnam, who was a hero in the French and Indian War and a general in the American Revolutionary War. Its county seat is Ottawa.
