Plainville is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 7,683 at the 2000 census. History
Plainville was first settled in 1661 as part of the vast lands of the town of Dedham. It separated from Dedham as part of Wrentham upon that town's founding in 1673. It was officially incorporated in 1905. It is the youngest town by date of incorporation in Norfolk County, and third youngest in the state, behind Millville (1912) and East Brookfield (1920).
