Okeover was one of the civil parishes of Mayfield Rural District which existed from 1894 until 1934. In 1916 it absorbed the parish of Woodhouses. It was transferred to Uttoxeter Rural District in 1934.

Okeover Hall is a privately owned Grade II* listed country house in Staffordshire. It is the family seat of the Okeover family, who have been in residence since the reign of William Rufus. The house lies close to the border between Staffordshire and Derbyshire, which lies on the far side of the small River Dove. The Hall is not open to the public. Wikipedia has some notes on the Okeover family from 1887.
