Oakthorpe and Donisthorpe was a civil parish formed in 1866 from the neighbouring villages of Oakthorpe and Donisthorpe situated near to the Derbyshire border in Leicestershire, England. Since 1974 the parish is named Oakthorpe, Donisthorpe and Acresford and is located in the North West Leicestershire District and was formerly part of Ashby-de-la-Zouch Rural District. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 2336. According to A Vision of Britain through Time the parish expanded in 1888 taking in sections of Measham, Over Seal and Nether Seal, and Stretton en le Field, and again in 1936 on the abolition of Willesley civil parish (from which it obtained 12 acres).
