NOTE: North Holme should not be confused either with Holme on Swale further west in the North Riding (North Yorkshire), or Holme-on-Spalding-Moor in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

North Holme is not found in Wikipedia and its location had to be found on Google Earth. It is between Muscoates and Normanby (near Pickering).

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of North Holme from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-1872:

"HOLME (NORTH), a township in Great Edstone parish, [North Riding of] Yorkshire; on the river Rye, 5 miles WSW of Helmsley. Acres, 610. Real property, £909. Pop., 17. Houses, 2."

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, North Holme was part of Kirkbymoorside Rural District. Historically, it was an extraparochial area within the Rydale Wapentake.
