Nakrekal is a town and municipality in Nalgonda district in India and has a population of 50,000 as of 2010. It is located along the Indian National Highway No. 9, about . from the district headquarters at the town of Nalgonda. Nakrekal has a significant influence on the villages surrounding it. Children from many villages travel to Nakrekal every day to go to government schools. It is an important source of common goods like oil, consumer items, pumpsets and other farm machinery for the village folk. It also forms an immediate market for their agricultural produce. The place is very famous for its temples and other devotional activities. There are temples like Shivalayam, Venkateshwara Swamy Devastanam, Hanuman Temple, Geetha Mandir (Sri Krishna Mandir), Satya Sai Temple, Kanaka Durga Temple, Sri Ramalayam, Sri Madvirat Veera Brahmam Gari Temple etc. The Geetha Mandir was built in 1992 and has been developed phase by phase with a good Kalyana Mandapa for devotional and cultural programmes. Recently, a temple for Sri Sai Baba was constructed by Sri Sai Seva Sansthan Trust of Nakrekal. The Shridi Sainath Temple is located on NH 65 and has been well attended by pilgrims daily. Nakarekal also has an indoor stadium.
