Mid Devon is a local government district in the county of Devon, England. Its council is based in Tiverton. It was originally called Tiverton District, but was renamed in 1978 by resolution of the district council.

The district was formed under the Local Government Act 1972, on 1 April 1974 by the merger of following municipalities:
