Melmerby is a village and civil parish in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. It lies in the Yorkshire Dales about 3 miles (4.8 km) south-west of Leyburn. Two neighbouring villages are Carlton Town and Agglethorpe.

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, Melmerby was located in Leyburn Rural District. Historically, it was located in the ecclesiastical parish of Coverham in the Hang West Wapentake.
