This village is now located in a part of the municipality of Gersheim, in the Saarpfalz-Kreis District of the Saarland State of Germany. In the early 19th century this region was part of Bavaria. I ultimately found it by locating a report on the MEGAL pipeline which started construction in 1975 and runs through Medelsheim. I was confused because it is not located in Bavaria and it took a lot of searching to find where this unconnected piece of land was given to the King of Bavaria after Napoleon was defeated in 1815.
