Madison County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is included in the Jackson, Tennessee, Metropolitan Statistical Area, As of 2010, the population was 98,294. Its county seat is Jackson. The county is the location of the Pinson Mounds, the largest complex of the Middle Woodland period. The mounds consist of 17 individual mounds, and have been carbon-dated to 500 CE era.
