Loftus is a town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Redcar and Cleveland and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. It lies in a region between Saltburn-by-the-Sea and the North York Moors. It was formerly known as Lofthouse.

Loftus was expanded as an urban district in 1934 when it absorbed part of Guisborough Rural District. (Source:North Riding of Yorkshire)
