Llanwenarth is a small village and parish in the Usk Valley of Monmouthshire, Wales. Llanwenarth is located two miles west of the market town of Abergavenny. The busy A40 road from Abergavenny to Brecon passes along the valley side above the river's flood plain.
In the 19th century Llanwenarth had two divisions: Llanwenarth Citra and Llanwenarth Ultra. The main part of the parish was in Llanwenarth Citra and Llanwenarth Ultra was on the opposite side of the Usk and contained the hamlet of Govilon.
In 1935, in a move to reduce the number of parishes within Abergavenny Rural District, Llanwenarth was absorbed into the civil parish of Llanfoist Fawr.
