Research Tips

The Liberty of the Rolls was a parish liberty, being that part of the City of London parish of St Dunstan in the West lying outside the city's boundary, in the adjoining county of Middlesex. It became a civil parish in 1866. In 1889 it was transferred from Middlesex to the newly-created County of London, and in 1900 it became part of Westminster Metropolitan Borough. Westminster Metropolitan Borough was abolished in 1965, becoming part of the City of Westminster.
