Lamar County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 18,317. The county seat is Barnesville.

Despite its great distance from the city of Atlanta, it is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area (Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area).
