The village of Kingston on Isle of Wight, England, is located eight kilometres southwest of Newport in the southwest of the island, an area known as the Back of the Wight.

St. James' Church is its parish church.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Kingston from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"KINGSTON, a parish in the Isle of Wight; 5½ miles SSW of Newport. Post town, Newport, Isle of Wight. Acres: 883. Real property: £938. Population: 68. Houses: 10. The property is all in one estate. The Manor House is picturesque. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester. Value: £240. Patron: the Rev. R.Kempe. The church is small and rude, but has good early English windows, and contains a brass of [omitted]"
