Jump is a village in the metropolitan borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, England. In the early 19th century it was located in the parish of Darfield; now it is located in the parish of Hoyland Nether.

According to local legend, the village was named Jump after a small river that ran through the village and the local coal miners having to 'jump' over the river to gain access.
