Iowa Colony is a village in Brazoria County, Texas, United States. The population was 804 at the 2000 census.

Iowa Colony is also known as a major speed trap along State Highway 288, as it has five short areas (fingers) of its city limits that cross over 288. This allows the Iowa Colony Police to consider speeders crossing through these fingers as ticketable.

Actually Iowa Colony has not had an independent police department in about 10 years. It has been patrolled by the Brazoria County Sherriff's Office.
