Les Shockey, administrator of West Virginia USGenWeb has posted in 2003 on the Jackson County message board (rootsweb) "There is no cemetery named McGee Cemetery in Jackson County that I know of. Independence Cemetery on Independence Road near Sandyville was adjacent to the old Independence United Methodist church and the church was once known as McGee's Chapel. The cemetery never used that name."

But since others, even Find-a-Grave, have used the name 'Magee Chapel,' that is given as an alternative name for Independence Cemetery.
