Howard Township is a township in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of the State College, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 964 at the 2010 census. Part of Bald Eagle State Park is in Howard Township. Howard Township was erected at January Sessions 1810, by dividing what was then Centre Township and called Howard as a tribute of respect to the great philanthropist, John Howard.
