GENUKI quotes from a gazetteer of the 1820s that Holdworth is a hamlet in the township of Bradfield, and parish of Ecclesfield, 6 miles northwest of Sheffield. There is also a hamlet west of Halifax in the suburb of Ovenden named Holdsworth.
