Great Hallingbury is a village and a civil parish near the M11 motorway, in the Uttlesford District, in the English county of Essex, England. It is near the town of Bishop's Stortford. The village is relatively small, containing houses from a selection of eras including Tudor through to modern buildings. The village population has shown a considerable decrease in size during the past several decades.

The parish was part of Stansted Rural District from 1894 until 1934 when it was transferred to Dunmow Rural District. Since 1974 it has been located in the Uttlesford District of Essex.
