Forest City Township is a township in Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 666 at the 2000 census. Forest City, an unincorporated community in the township, once was the county seat until Litchfield got so big, including a small area in the southwestern part of this township, that the people there voted themselves "in". Forest City is the site of the historical Forest City Stockade, which played a significant part in the Dakota War of 1862.
