A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Eshott from John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles of 1887:

"Eshott, township, Felton par., N. Northumberland, on river Coquet, 7½ miles NW. of Morpeth, 1798 acres, population: 140; contains Eshott House."
