Erin is a town in Chemung County, New York, United States. The population was 1,962 at the 2010 census. The name was applied by early settlers from Ireland.

The Town of Erin is east of Elmira and is at the county's northeast border. It is part of the 'Elmira, New York Metropolitan Statistical Area'.

The town was first settled before 1816. The Town of Erin was formed in 1822 from the Town of Chemung.

The Scotchtown Cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
