Emerson is a town in Columbia County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 359 at the 2000 census. Emerson derives its name from Reuben Logan Emerson, an early settler of Columbia County, who was a teacher, merchant, banker, owner of the newspaper The Columbia Banner, and state representative. In 1905, he also founded the city which today bears his name. Emerson celebrated its 100th birthday February 8, 2005.

Major industries in the area are timber, bromine and bromine-based products, and oil.

And each year since 1990, on the last Saturday of June, Emerson hosts the PurpleHull Pea Festival & World Championship Rotary Tiller Race. Beginning in 2002, the festival became a two-day event, starting on Friday.

On March 1, 2013, local entrepreneur Jessica Haynes was featured on the ABC show Shark Tank. Her product is JesKa Shoes which are women's shoes with interchangeable heels and accessories. She developed the shoes while attending Southern Arkansas University in nearby Magnolia, Arkansas. On the show, Jessica struck a deal with "shark" Daymond John, the founder and CEO of the clothing brand FUBU. Some scenes of the show featured Jessica and her family in Emerson.
