Elk County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2010 census, the population was 31,946.
Elk County was created on April 18, 1843, from parts of Jefferson, Clearfield and McKean Counties, and is named for the Eastern elk that historically inhabited the region. Its county seat is Ridgway..
