Edgewood is a city in Kenton County, Kentucky. The population was 9,400 at the 2000 census. It was named for an early homestead in Walker Estates.

Edgewood was established on November 15, 1948. Shortly after the formation of the city, it merged with several surrounding cities. The biggest of these mergers occurred in 1968 when the city merged with Summit Hills Heights and St. Pius Heights. The new city government began operating on January 1, 1969.[1]
