Edern, formerly known as Edeyrn, is a village and former civil parish in the Welsh county of Gwynedd (before 1974 the historic county of Caernarvonshire. The village is about 1 km SW of the larger village of Morfa Nefyn, near the north (Caernarfon Bay) coast of the Llŷn Peninsula, on the B4417 road.

The civil parish was abolished in 1939, and incorporated into the neighbouring parish of Nefyn.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Edern from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"EDEYRN, a parish in Pwllheli [registration] district, Carnarvon; on the coast, 3 miles W by S of Nevin [Nefyn], and 8 WNW of Pwllheli [railway] station. It includes Porth Din-Llyn and Garswylld village, and has a post office under Pwllheli. Acres: 1,380; of which 20 are water. Real property: £1,814. Population: 613. Houses: 145. The living is a rectory, united with the [perpetual] curacies of Carngiwch and Pistill, in the diocese of Bangor. Value: £362. Patron: the Bishop of Bangor. There are a Calvinistic Methodist chapel, and charities £7."
