Ector County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 137,130. It is named for Mathew Ector, a Confederate general in the American Civil War. Its seat is Odessa. Ector County was founded in 1893.
Ector County is included in the Odessa, Texas, Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the Midland–Odessa Combined Statistical Area.
