The Kurds are the predominant population. Other groups include Turks, Syriacs, Armenians, Arabs and Yazidis.

The Kurds are also residing in "Machh city" in Balochistan Province, the Former Balochistan State. According to Baloch History, the Kurds and Balochs are considered the brother races. In Rajan Pur the adjacent District with Balochistan, the Kurds are called Kirth. Balochs claim that Kurds are their brother and Kurd is a group of Baloch Race. See Book: " Balochistan ki Kahani Shairoon ki Zubani (The Story of Balochistan, narrated by poets), by Mir Gull Khan Nasir, Quetta, Balochi Academy, May 1976, Pp.6-7".
