Cunninghame was a district of the Strathclyde Region of Scotland from 1975–1996. Historically it was also a former "comital" district of Scotland--a district in the possession of an earl or count. Its evolution to the modern day is discussed under "Historic Cunninghame" below. The map at Wikipedia locates the district.

Cunninghame has now been replaced by the North Ayrshire unitary authority.
