Copake Lake is a community (and census-designated place) in Southern Columbia County, New York, United States. The population was 823 at the 2010 census.

Copake Lake census region is named after Copake Lake, a lake by the west town line of the Town of Copake. Copake means "snake pond" in the native language.

Located about 95 miles north of New York City, Copake Lake has become one of the top second-home-buying markets in the New York City region as other expensive, overcrowded, New York second-home communities such as the Hamptons are slowly falling out of favor.
