Congleton Rural District was located in the south of the county of Cheshire from 1894 until 1974. It surrounded the towns of Congleton, and Sandbach with Middlewich at its western boundary and Alsager on the south.

Its predecessor was the Congleton Rural Sanitary District and it was replaced in 1974, along with the towns of Alsager, Congleton, Middlewich and Sandbach, by the Congleton District or "Borough", covering a very wide area.
