Gatcombe is a village and civil parish on the Isle of Wight, England. Since 1974 the civil parish has been called Chillerton and Gatcombe and includes the neighbouring village of Chillerton. It is located four kilometres from Newport in the centre of the island. St. Olave's Church, Gatcombe was dedicated in 1292, serving as chapel to Gatcombe House. The Gatcombe parish was established in 1560.

Chillerton

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Chillerton from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"CHILLERTON, a hamlet in Carisbrooke and Wootton parishes, Isle of Wight; 3¾ miles S by W of Newport. It has a post office under Newport. Population: 244. Chillerton vale is a fine narrow gorge intersecting the chalk downs."

Gatcombe and Chillerton has been a civil parish on the Isle of Wight since 1974.
