Camperdown, in the county of Tyne and Wear, England since 1974, is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of North Tyneside. Camperdown is just south of Burradon in Tyneside, and the two villages are closely linked. Both villages had coal mines.

Camperdown was a civil parish formed in 1899 from parts of the parishes of Longbenton and Weetslade and was located in Tynemouth Rural District. Its life as a civil parish was short-lived; it was absorbed back into Longbenton in 1912 when Tynemouth Rural District was abolished.

When blown up to about 5 times original magnification, the Ordnance Survey map of Northumberland in 1900 shows Camperdown, Burradon and other nearby villages, just to the northeast of Newcastle.
