Campbell County is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The population was 64,842 at the 2010 census. Its county seat is Rustburg. The county is named after General William Campbell of the Revolutionary War.
Campbell County is part of the Lynchburg Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Campbell County was established in 1782 from Bedford County. The county was named for Revolutionary War hero, General William Campbell, who is known for the 1780 Battle of Kings Mountain.
