Suburb named and bounded by Minister for Survey and Valuation, Urban and Regional Affairs 11 August 1975. Possibly the name derived from teamsters' camping place on route to Cleveland and Redland Bay. Boundary altered by the Minister for Natural Resources and Minister for Mines, 1 June 2001. Amended because of boundary alteration by Minister for Natural Resources and Minister for Mines 12 July 2002.
