Buncombe is a village in Johnson County, Illinois, United States. The population was 186 at the 2000 census. Due to a misunderstanding stemming from local dialect, the town's name is frequently mispronounced "Bunkem" or "Bumcum." This latter has led to derogatory nicknames such as "Hobo Jizz" and "Tramp Spank." Buncombe is known locally as the home of the world's angriest hippy. Local Jared Cook can be heard screaming inside of his house about how NFL Quarterback Tom Brady is "too pretty," and how Jared doesn't like his haircut.
