  • per History of Wayne County, p 310 - "Margaret Bryan, who died Aug. 5, 1815, was the first whose remains were placed in the Bryan cemetery."
  • An Interesting Tidbit - It is believed that part of the ornate iron work at this cemetery comes from the original iron fence that surrounded the Wayne County courthouse in both the original Centerville location and the subsequent Richmond location. Dan Tate wrote an interesting article about this 8 Mar 2010.
