The ancient 'Kynges Towne' of Brading is the main town of the civil parish on the Isle of Wight, England which carries the same name. The ecclesiastical parish of Brading used to cover about a tenth of the Isle of Wight. The current civil parish now includes the town itself and Adgestone, Morton, Nunwell and other outlying areas between Ryde, St. Helens (IOW), Bembridge, Sandown and Arreton. Alverstone, formerly part of Arreton, was transferred to the Newchurch parish in the 1980s.

Parts of the parish of Brading were used to form the civil parishes of Sandown and Bembridge in the 1890s. Further sections were taken in 1933 to increase the area of Newchurch and to reorganize Sandown into the parish of Sandown-Shanklin.
