The civil parish of Billing was formed in 1935 from the smaller parishes of Great Billing and Little Billing located to the east of Northampton in Northamptonshire, England. It was expanded in 1960 when the parish of Weston Favell, which previously separated Billing from Northampton, was also absorbed into the parish. Billing also contains the 20th-century communities of Ecton Brook and Bellinge.

Billing is geographically the largest civil parish in the Northampton District. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 8,642, but is now over 10,000. Billing is accessible by the A45 road westward to Northampton which runs along the south side of Billing.

Billing has been since 1974 part of the non-metropolitan Northampton District or Borough of Northampton.

Billing was the birthplace of Caroline Chisholm (1808 – 1877), a progressive 19th-century English humanitarian known mostly for her involvement with female immigrant welfare in Australia.

These two maps show the boundaries of the individual civil parishes in the county in 1900 and in 1944. Comparing the two on a local level allows one to understand the alterations (should there be any) which occurred during the interim period which are noted in the text above.
