Belmont is a town in Pleasants County, West Virginia, United States. It is part of the Parkersburg-Marietta-Vienna, WV-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 872 at the 2020 census.[1]

Belmont was incorporated on April 19, 1946 by the Circuit Court of Pleasants County. The city was named for the beautiful hills (Belmont—or beautiful mountain) (beau mont) in the area.
