Located inHampshire, England

To place the hundred within the county, see The Hundreds of Hampshire, a map from HMSO Boundary Commissioners, dated 1832, provided by A Vision of Britain through Time; or this map on Wikimedia Commons.

On the first map referenced above Barton Stacey Hundred, Chuteley, Evingar and Overton Hundreds are in a group on the northern border of Hampshire between the larger hundreds of Kingsclere and Holdshot. Basingstoke Hundred is to the south. Today the area is the Distrct of Basingstoke and Deane.

In fact only one of Barton Stacey's parishes, Pamber, was located on the Hampshire-Berkshire border. The remainder are in detached "pockets" spread around the county with the majority not far north of Winchester and a second group near Petersfield. Barton Stacey Hundred pretty well ceased to exist in 1834 with the parishes joining the local hundred instead.

Barton Stacey Hundred and its individual parishes are covered in Volume 4 of the Victoria County History for Hampshire
