Balerno is a village that was situated in the parish of Currie in the former Scottish county of Midlothian. With the rest of Currie parish it was absorbed into the City of Edinburgh in 1975. Notable buildings include Cockburn House (1672) and the early 17th Century Malleny House, now administered by the National Trust for Scotland.
