The VIII Bío Bío Region, one of the fifteen first-order administrative divisions in Chile, comprises four provinces: Arauco, Bío Bío, Concepción, and Ñuble.

The capital of the Region is Concepción. Other important cities include Chillán, Coronel, Hualpén, Los Ángeles, and Talcahuano.
