Aransas County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is part of the Corpus Christi Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of 2000, the population was 22,497. Its county seat is Rockport. (See List of Texas county name etymologies.) Aransas County was formed in 1871 from Refugio County.
