Person talk:William Tubbs (3)

Removed discussion [14 August 2010]

I removed various discussion from the Personal History.

Regarding the spelling of Prince versus Prence: it is not important as colonial spelling was phonetic and so both forms were used, though it is noted somewhere about Gov. Prence (as one of the blurbs said) that he himself only used the form Prence. But a page on William Tubbs doesn't seem like the place for that discussion on the spelling of Prence.

Also "William Tubbs Jr. and Judith Prence had two children." This is stated with no sources. Judith was about 40 at the time of marriage, having already had 11 children by her first husband, so this seems somewhat unlikely, and in need some sort of proof, like names of the children, records of their birth or baptism or some proof they were born after 1691. There is no mention of children in VR Duxbury or VR Pembroke. The Tubbs Ancestral Notes places two children, William and Samuel, with first wife Hannah. --Jrich 16:35, 14 August 2010 (EDT)
